Should you eat before swimming

Our Parents use to tell us that we should not swim until 30 minutes of eating food. This is based on an idea that our body diverts most of the blood to digestive tract to digest food, which reduces the blood flow to our muscles and limbs, thereby increasing risk of drowning due to cramps. Most of the researchers have different opinion about this fact. Therefore, we recommend avoiding swimming until 30 minutes of eating food.
